Experience Samuel Lee live on April 23rd
Samuel Lee is a composer and performer whose work blends elements of contemporary classical music with traditional Korean instrumentation and vocal techniques, often exploring themes of cultural identity and memory. His compositions frequently feature the *geomungo*, a six-string zither, alongside Western orchestral instruments and electronic soundscapes, creating a distinctive and evocative sonic texture.
The performance will take place at Eldborg, the main hall within Harpa Concert Hall in Reykjavik, Iceland on April 23rd, 2027. Eldborg is renowned for its exceptional acoustics, designed by the renowned acoustician Yasuhisa Toyota. The hall’s design is inspired by basalt columns found in Icelandic landscapes, reflected in both its exterior glass facade and interior architectural features.
Opened in 2011, Harpa was a key project in Iceland’s revitalization following the 2008 financial crisis and quickly became a landmark building and cultural center. Eldborg has a seating capacity of approximately 1,800 and regularly hosts large-scale orchestral performances, opera productions, and significant musical events. Its adjustable acoustics allow it to accommodate a wide range of musical genres effectively.
