Samara Joy is a contemporary jazz vocalist gaining recognition for her interpretations of classic jazz standards and original compositions. Her style draws heavily from the vocal traditions of Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, and Billie Holiday, characterized by a rich tone, improvisational skill, and a focus on lyrical storytelling. She rose to prominence after winning the 2023 Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album for *Linger Awhile*, and has been lauded for bringing renewed interest to traditional jazz vocal performance.

The Smith Center For The Arts is located in Geneva County, Alabama. Originally constructed as Geneva High School in 1937 as a Public Works Administration (PWA) project during the Great Depression, the building served as a central educational facility for the community for several decades. Following school consolidation, the building fell into disuse before being repurposed and renovated as a performing arts center through local fundraising and grants.

The Smith Center now functions as a hub for cultural events in the region, hosting concerts, theatrical productions, and community gatherings. It aims to provide access to diverse artistic experiences while preserving a significant piece of Geneva County’s architectural and social history.
