Sam Amidon is a Vermont-based musician known for his distinctive interpretations of traditional American folk music, often described as blending elements of old-time, jazz, and experimental music. He frequently utilizes looping and electronic effects alongside banjo, guitar, and vocals to create layered and atmospheric soundscapes. Amidon’s work incorporates both traditional arrangements of Appalachian songs and original compositions that explore similar themes of narrative and place. Icehouse is an independent venue located in the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District.
