Backstein West is a venue located in the Plagwitz district of Leipzig, housed within a former industrial building constructed from clinker brick – hence the name “Backstein” meaning clinker brick in German. Originally a factory producing textile machinery, it underwent renovation to become a multi-purpose cultural hub.
