Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin (RSB) will perform at the Isarphilharmonie in Munich on February 2nd, 2027. The RSB is renowned for its broad repertoire encompassing works from the classical canon through to contemporary compositions, with a particular strength in interpreting 20th and 21st-century music. Historically a radio orchestra, founded in 1924, the ensemble maintains a commitment to both broadcast performance and concert hall presentation, known for its precision and distinctive sonic quality.

The Isarphilharmonie, inaugurated in 1903 as the Deutsches Theater, underwent extensive renovation and re-opened in 2021 following a significant redesign by blocher partners. Originally built as a multi-purpose venue hosting opera, plays, and concerts, it served primarily as an opera house for much of its history. The recent refurbishment focused on enhancing acoustics and modernizing facilities while preserving the building’s historical architectural features. It now functions primarily as a concert hall and secondary venue for the Bayerische Staatsoper. The hall is noted for its intimate atmosphere and excellent sound diffusion achieved through careful architectural planning during reconstruction.
