Classical Concerts in Rome

Experience Rudolf Buchbinder live on April 30th

Rudolf Buchbinder will perform a concert at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, Italy on April 30, 2027. Buchbinder is internationally recognized for his interpretations of the Viennese classical repertoire, particularly the works of Beethoven, Mozart, Schubert and Brahms. His playing is characterized by a deeply considered approach, technical precision, and a focus on structural clarity alongside emotional depth. He frequently performs complete Beethoven sonata cycles and is known for his extensive research into performance practice.

The Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia is one of the oldest musical institutions in the world. Founded in Rome in 1585 by Pope Sixtus V as a society dedicated to music, it initially functioned as a confraternity devoted to Saint Cecilia, the patron saint of music. Over centuries, it evolved from a religious association into a formal academy and ultimately, in 1895, into an independent institution for musical education and performance.

The Accademia maintains its own orchestra and choir and hosts a significant concert season within its historic hall, the Aula Magna. It has been associated with numerous prominent Italian composers and musicians throughout its history and continues to be a leading center for musical activity in Italy.
