Experience Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra live on November 9th
The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra will perform at the Philharmonie de Paris on November 9, 2026. Internationally renowned, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra is celebrated for its rich, warm sound and a historically rooted interpretation of standard repertoire. The orchestra’s distinctive tone is often attributed to its home hall, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, famed for its acoustics, and a tradition emphasizing blend and balance between instrumental sections. While capable of performing music across all periods, they are particularly associated with late-Romantic and early 20th-century works by composers such as Mahler, Strauss, and Bruckner.
The Philharmonie de Paris, opened in January 2015, represents a significant addition to Paris’s cultural landscape. Designed by Jean Nouvel, the concert hall complex features a "Grande Salle" with adjustable acoustics accommodating a range of musical genres – classical, contemporary, and popular music. It replaced the former Palais des Congrès de Paris as the city's primary venue for large-scale musical performances. The building also houses smaller performance spaces, exhibition areas dedicated to musical history and instruments, and educational facilities.
