The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra (RCO) is renowned for its distinctive sound, often characterized by a rich, warm tone and a pronounced clarity of texture. The Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the venue for the September 23, 2026 performance, opened in 1888 and is widely considered one of the world’s greatest concert halls. Its exceptional acoustics are a result of its shoebox shape and specific dimensions – approximately 44.5 meters long, 28.5 meters wide, and 15 meters high. The hall was designed by architect Pierre Cuypers, also known for Amsterdam Central Station and the Rijksmuseum.
