Originally constructed in 1938 as a Works Progress Administration project, it primarily served as a baseball diamond for local leagues for several decades. In the 1980s, renovations allowed the field to host a wider range of community events, including concerts, festivals, and farmers' markets. The field maintains its original grandstand seating alongside open lawn space accommodating larger audiences. It is currently maintained by the Pleasantville Parks and Recreation Department and remains a central gathering place for the community. The field has a capacity of approximately 3,500 attendees for concert events.
