Roomful of Blues is scheduled to perform at The Kate, located in Old Saybrook, Connecticut, on April 16, 2027. The band is renowned for its dynamic performances rooted in American blues traditions, encompassing elements of jump blues, swing, R&B, and soul. Formed in 1969 in Rhode Island, Roomful of Blues has a long history of showcasing both established and emerging blues talent; several musicians who gained prominence later in their careers began with this ensemble. Throughout its existence, the band has maintained a consistent focus on energetic instrumentation and tight arrangements.

The Kate – formally known as The Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center – opened in 2009. It was named in honor of the four-time Academy Award-winning actress Katharine Hepburn, who spent her childhood summers in Fenwick, a section of Old Saybrook. The venue itself is housed within a restored historic building originally constructed in 1912 as a pharmacy and town hall. It functions as a multi-purpose performing arts center hosting concerts, theatrical productions, film screenings and community events. The Kate aims to provide cultural enrichment to the Connecticut shoreline region and beyond.
