Roomful of Blues is scheduled to perform at Slater Memorial Park in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on August 29, 2026. The band is recognized for its dynamic performances rooted in blues, rhythm and blues, and jump blues traditions. Formed in 1969, Roomful of Blues has a long history of showcasing both established and emerging blues talent, consistently delivering a high-energy sound characterized by strong horn sections and soulful vocals. Over the decades, the band has undergone personnel changes but maintained its commitment to authentic blues music.

Slater Memorial Park itself holds historical significance for the city of Pawtucket. Established in 1896, it was one of the first public parks created in Rhode Island through the efforts of local industrialist Samuel Slater and his family. The park was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, renowned for his work on Central Park in New York City and Boston’s Emerald Necklace. It features a variety of landscapes including open lawns, wooded areas, walking paths, and a prominent bandstand – frequently used for public concerts and events – alongside memorials dedicated to the Slater family's contributions to the region’s industrial development.
