Rodrigo y Gabriela are a Mexican acoustic guitar duo renowned for their energetic and innovative instrumental compositions. Their music blends flamenco, rock, and jazz influences, characterized by rapid-fire fingerpicking, percussive techniques on the guitar bodies, and complex rhythmic interplay. Originating in Mexico City in 1999, they initially busked on the streets before gaining international recognition for their unique sound and captivating live performances. They primarily perform original works but also incorporate covers, re-imagined in their distinctive style.

L'Aéronef, located in Lille, France, is a significant concert hall and cultural venue housed within a former aircraft hangar dating back to World War I. Opened in 1998 after extensive renovations, it’s known for its industrial aesthetic – retaining much of the original hangar structure – and its large capacity, accommodating audiences of up to 1600 people standing or 850 seated. The venue hosts a diverse range of musical acts spanning rock, electronic, world music and more; it also stages theatrical performances and other cultural events. It is managed by the city of Lille and forms part of a wider network of municipal cultural spaces dedicated to supporting contemporary artistic expression.
