Rodrigo y Gabriela are a Mexican acoustic guitar duo renowned for their energetic and virtuosic performances. Originally busking on the streets of Ireland in the late 1990s, they gained international recognition through independent album releases and extensive touring. The Academy of Music Theatre in Northampton, Massachusetts, originally opened in 1870 as a grand opera house and vaudeville hall. Throughout its history, it has hosted a wide range of performances including theatrical productions, concerts, lectures, and films. The building underwent significant renovations in the 1980s after falling into disrepair, restoring many of its original architectural features while updating its technical capabilities. It currently operates as a non-profit performing arts center dedicated to presenting diverse cultural programming.
