The Santa Barbara Bowl is an outdoor amphitheater that opened in 1939. Originally constructed as a Works Progress Administration project intended for polo matches and community events, it was quickly adapted for musical performances. The venue is known for its natural acoustics, nestled within the foothills of the Santa Ynez Mountains. It has a seating capacity of approximately 4,500 and a lawn capacity bringing total attendance to around 6,800. Throughout its history, the Bowl has hosted a diverse range of performers spanning genres including rock, pop, jazz, and classical music. Its design features a simple stage backed by the natural hillside creating a distinctive visual experience for concertgoers.
