The OVO Hydro, formerly known as The Hydro, opened in October 2013 as part of the wider regeneration of the Clyde waterfront area. It is a multi-purpose indoor arena and the largest entertainment venue in Scotland, with a capacity of up to 14,300. Designed by Populous, the arena’s distinctive appearance features a translucent dome that can be illuminated in a variety of colours. It has hosted numerous high-profile events including concerts by major international artists, sporting events such as gymnastics championships and basketball games, and televised awards shows. The venue is owned by the Scottish Events and Hospitality Group (SEHG) and operated by ASM Global. It is connected to the SEC Centre via a covered walkway.
