Rhiannon Giddens is a musician celebrated for her expansive interpretations of American roots music. Her work draws deeply from the banjo, fiddle, and vocal traditions of both African American and European American heritage, encompassing folk, blues, jazz, and early country sounds. She is known for rigorously researched historical recovery projects that bring overlooked musical narratives to light, particularly those concerning the contributions of Black musicians. Giddens frequently incorporates original compositions alongside traditional material, often addressing themes of race, history, and social justice.

The concert will take place at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, Germany on November 26th, 2026. This concert hall is a landmark building situated on the Elbe River harborfront. Construction began in 2007 and was completed in 2017 after significant delays and cost overruns. Designed by Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron, its distinctive glass structure sits atop a historic warehouse called the Kaispeicher A.

The Elbphilharmonie is renowned for its exceptional acoustics within its Grand Hall – home to the Hamburg Elbphilharmonie Orchestra – and its smaller Recital Hall.
