The Regensburger Domspatzen, one of Germany’s most renowned boys’ choirs, will perform at Tonhalle Düsseldorf on December 7th, 2026. The choir’s repertoire spans a broad range, deeply rooted in sacred music traditions. Historically focused on Gregorian chant and Renaissance polyphony, their performances now frequently include works from the Baroque period through to contemporary compositions. They are known for their precise vocal technique, disciplined ensemble work, and a characteristic bright, clear tone. Founded in the 9th century, the Domspatzen have a long association with Regensburg Cathedral and have toured internationally for decades.

Tonhalle Düsseldorf opened in 1925 after designs by architect Wilhelm Kreis. It underwent extensive renovation and modernization between 2017 and 2021, enhancing its acoustics and facilities while preserving its architectural heritage. The hall is celebrated for its excellent acoustics and serves as a primary venue for the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra and hosts a diverse range of classical music performances, including orchestral concerts, chamber music recitals, and choral works. Its design incorporates elements of both classical and expressionist styles. The building's interior features a distinctive horseshoe shape providing good sightlines from most seats.
