Tipitina’s, located on Napoleon Avenue, holds a significant place in New Orleans musical history. Founded in 1974 by Harry Cook III, it was initially established as a venue to showcase Professor Longhair, a local piano legend who lacked consistent performance spaces. The club quickly became renowned for its intimate atmosphere and dedication to Louisiana music – particularly rhythm & blues, funk, and jazz.
