Ravi Coltrane, son of jazz icons John and Alice Coltrane, will perform at the Newman Center for the Performing Arts in Denver, Colorado on September 30, 2026. His musical style is rooted in post-bop and contemporary jazz, often characterized by a searching, melodic improvisation built upon a strong harmonic foundation. He frequently incorporates elements of his parents’ spiritual jazz explorations while maintaining a distinctly modern sensibility, utilizing both tenor and soprano saxophones. Coltrane has released numerous albums as a leader and collaborated with a diverse range of artists including Elvin Jones and Carlos Santana.

The Newman Center for the Performing Arts opened in 1987 and serves as a multi-venue performing arts complex. It comprises Boettcher Concert Hall, home to the Colorado Symphony; the Ellie Caulkins Opera House, which hosts Broadway shows and other large-scale performances; and Studios at the Newman Center, offering more intimate spaces for smaller productions. The Center is located in the Denver Performing Arts Complex, one of the largest such complexes in the United States. It is known for presenting a wide array of programming including classical music, opera, dance, theatre and popular performances.
