Queens of the Stone Age are scheduled to perform at Spark Arena in Auckland, New Zealand on December 20, 2026. The band is known for its distinctive hard rock sound, often categorized as stoner rock or desert rock, characterized by heavy, fuzz-laden guitar riffs, complex rhythmic structures, and Josh Homme’s vocals. Formed in 1996, they have released eight studio albums to date, achieving critical acclaim and a dedicated global fanbase. Their music frequently incorporates elements of blues, psychedelic rock and alternative metal.

Spark Arena, formerly known as Vector Arena, is Auckland’s largest indoor entertainment venue. Opened in 2007, it has a seating capacity of approximately 9,000 – 12,000 depending on event configuration. The arena hosts a diverse range of events including concerts by international artists, sporting fixtures (particularly basketball and netball), and family shows. It features a flexible design allowing for varied stage setups and viewing experiences. The venue is located near the Auckland waterfront and is a significant component of the city's entertainment infrastructure. It underwent a substantial refurbishment and rebranding from Vector Arena to Spark Arena in 2020.
