Quatuor Hermès is a French string quartet known for its interpretations of both classical and contemporary repertoire, frequently championing lesser-known composers alongside established masters. The concert will take place at the Abbaye de Silvacane, a Cistercian abbey located near La Roque-d'Anthéron in Provence, France. Founded in 1175, it represents a significant example of Cistercian architecture and is renowned for its remarkably well-preserved Romanesque cloister, considered one of the most beautiful in France. The abbey’s acoustics are particularly suited to chamber music performances due to the stone construction and relatively intimate space.

Silvacane experienced periods of prosperity and decline throughout its history, eventually being abandoned during the French Revolution.
