Punch Brothers are scheduled to perform at the State Theatre of Ithaca on November 14, 2026. The band is recognized for their innovative approach to bluegrass and acoustic music, often incorporating elements of jazz, classical, and progressive rock into their compositions. Their instrumentation features banjo, mandolin, guitar, bass, and fiddle, with complex vocal harmonies being a prominent characteristic of their sound. The State Theatre of Ithaca originally opened in 1928 as a Vaudeville house and movie palace. Throughout its history, it served primarily as a cinema but underwent periods of closure and disrepair. A significant restoration project completed in 2014 revitalized the venue, returning it to its former grandeur. Today, the State Theatre functions as a multi-purpose performance space hosting concerts, films, comedy shows and other live events. It’s known for its ornate architecture reflecting the atmospheric style popular during the late 1920s and is a key cultural hub within the Town of Ithaca and surrounding region. The theatre has a capacity of approximately 675 seats.
