Folk Concerts in Milwaukee

Experience Punch Brothers live on September 13th

Punch Brothers will perform at the Pabst Theater in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on September 13, 2026. The band is recognized for their innovative approach to bluegrass music, blending traditional instrumentation with elements of jazz, classical, and progressive rock. Formed in 2006, Punch Brothers features Chris Thile on mandolin, Noam Pikelny on banjo, Gabe Witcher on fiddle, Paul Kowert on bass, and Chris Eldridge on guitar. Their compositions are often characterized by complex arrangements, sophisticated harmonies, and Thile’s distinctive vocals and songwriting.

The Pabst Theater originally opened in 1895 as a venue for vaudeville and theatrical performances. Designed by architects Otto Strack and Egbert B. Potter, it's a historically significant building listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Over its history, the theater has hosted a diverse range of performers including stage actors like Maude Adams and W.C. Fields in its early years, and later musical artists spanning genres from Harry Houdini to contemporary musicians. A significant restoration completed in 2020 preserved many of the theater’s original ornate architectural details while updating its technical capabilities.
