Punch Brothers are scheduled to perform at Bristol Beacon on January 14, 2027. The band is recognized for their innovative approach to bluegrass music, blending traditional instrumentation – banjo, mandolin, guitar, bass, and fiddle – with elements of jazz, classical, and progressive rock. Their compositions are often characterized by complex arrangements, virtuosic playing, and thoughtful lyrical content. Formed in 2006, Punch Brothers have garnered critical acclaim and a dedicated following for their studio albums and energetic live performances.

Bristol Beacon underwent a significant £49 million renovation completed in late 2023. Originally opened in 1898 as the Bristol Corn Exchange, it has operated under various names including Colston Hall. The building’s history is rooted in its function as a trading hub for agricultural goods before transitioning into a prominent venue for musical and theatrical performances. The refurbishment aimed to improve accessibility, acoustics, and overall audience experience while respecting the building’s architectural heritage. It now features three performance spaces: Halla (the main auditorium), Lantern Hall and Studio. The venue hosts a diverse range of events including classical concerts, contemporary music performances, comedy shows and educational programs.
