Proleter is a Polish post-punk band formed in Łódź in 2014. Their music is generally characterized by a raw, energetic sound drawing influence from 1980s post-punk and cold wave, often featuring driving basslines, angular guitar work, and vocals delivered in Polish. Lyrically, their songs frequently address themes of social alienation, urban decay, and political disillusionment. The band has released several albums to critical acclaim within the Polish alternative music scene and has toured extensively throughout Europe.
Hydrozagadka is a well-known alternative culture venue located in Warsaw’s Praga district. Originally operating as a clandestine space during the communist era, it functioned as an informal meeting point for artists and intellectuals circumventing state control. Post-1989, it officially became a club and concert space, retaining its distinctly underground aesthetic. Hydrozagadka is known for hosting a diverse range of events including punk, experimental electronic music performances, art exhibitions and film screenings. It’s considered an important landmark for independent artistic expression in Warsaw due to its historical significance and continued support of non-mainstream artists.
