The Met, located in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, is a historic performance venue originally constructed in 1926 as a Vaudeville house and movie palace. Throughout its history, it has hosted a diverse range of acts including musical performances, theatrical productions, and community events. The building underwent significant restoration in the 1990s, preserving many of its original architectural details – including ornate plasterwork and a grand proscenium arch – while modernizing its capabilities for contemporary performances. It currently operates as a multi-purpose event space with a capacity of approximately 1,200 standing or 750 seated attendees. The Met is known for its intimate atmosphere and strong acoustics, making it a popular choice for both established touring artists and emerging musicians.
