The George Mason University Center for the Arts (GMU Center for the Arts) opened in 1982 and serves as a major performing arts venue for the university and the Northern Virginia region. It comprises the Concert Hall – a 2,000-seat venue designed for orchestral performances and large-scale events – and the Theater, a more intimate space seating approximately 600. The center hosts a diverse range of programming including touring Broadway shows, concerts featuring nationally and internationally renowned artists, dance performances and educational outreach programs. It is designed to be accessible to both campus and community audiences and has undergone renovations to enhance its facilities over the years.
