Philharmonisches Orchester Landestheater Coburg is the resident orchestra of the Landestheater Coburg, performing a broad repertoire encompassing classical and romantic orchestral works, alongside opera and ballet accompaniment. The orchestra frequently focuses on pieces from the standard orchestral literature, but also incorporates contemporary compositions and lesser-known works into its programming. They are known for their versatility in supporting the diverse productions of the Landestheater.

The concert on February 24th, 2027 will be held at the Reithalle in Coburg. Originally constructed in 1880-1881, the Reithalle served as a riding hall for the Saxon-Coburg and Gotha ducal court. Its architecture reflects a late historicist style, specifically designed for equestrian events. Following periods of varied use including military purposes, it underwent extensive renovation in the 1990s transforming it into a multi-functional event space.

Today, the Reithalle maintains its original structural character – notably its large wooden roof construction – while functioning as a venue for concerts, theatrical performances, exhibitions and other cultural events. Its acoustics are considered particularly well-suited to orchestral music due to its volume and resonant qualities.
