Philharmonisches Orchester Landestheater Coburg is the resident orchestra of the Landestheater Coburg, performing a broad repertoire encompassing classical and romantic works, alongside opera and ballet accompaniment. Originally constructed in 1888-1889 as a riding hall for the Saxon-Coburg and Gotha ducal court, the Reithalle underwent extensive renovation between 2019 and 2021. This refurbishment modernized the building while preserving its historical architectural features, including its distinctive wooden roof structure.

Today, the Reithalle functions as a multi-purpose event space hosting concerts, theatrical performances, exhibitions and other cultural events. Its acoustics have been significantly improved through the renovations making it a suitable venue for orchestral performances.
