Experience Philharmonia Orchestra live on March 6th
Philharmonia Orchestra, renowned for its historically informed performances and a versatile repertoire spanning the Baroque period to contemporary works, will perform at Philharmonie de Paris on March 6, 2027. The orchestra is celebrated for its clarity of sound, precision, and commitment to both standard orchestral literature and commissioning new pieces. Founded in London in 1944 by Walter Legge, it quickly established itself as a leading ensemble through recordings and performances featuring prominent conductors.
Philharmonie de Paris, inaugurated in January 2015, represents a significant addition to Paris’s cultural landscape. Designed by Jean Nouvel, the concert hall complex features a Grande Salle with adjustable acoustics capable of accommodating diverse musical genres. The building aims to be accessible and inclusive, offering spaces for education and community engagement alongside its primary performance venues – the Grande Salle, the Petite Salle, and several smaller studio spaces. It replaced the former Palais des Congrès de Paris as the city's primary venue for large-scale orchestral concerts and has become a focal point for musical innovation and preservation within France. The complex is situated in the Parc de la Villette, a large park in the 19th arrondissement of Paris.
