Peter Evans, a prominent American trumpeter known for his highly improvisational and technically demanding approach to free jazz and avant-garde music, is scheduled to perform at the Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay in Singapore on July 17, 2026. Evans’s work frequently incorporates extended techniques, exploring the sonic possibilities of the trumpet beyond conventional playing methods, often characterized by rapid, multiphonic textures and a dynamic range pushing the instrument’s limits. He has released numerous albums as a leader and sideman on labels like Firehouse Records and Relative Pitch Records, collaborating with diverse artists across experimental music scenes.

The Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay, commonly known as the Esplanade, opened in October 2002. It is a performing arts centre situated on the waterfront of Marina Bay. Designed by Michael Wilford and James Stirling, its distinctive architecture featuring a spiky dome structure has become an iconic landmark of Singapore's skyline. The complex houses a Concert Hall seating approximately 1,600 patrons, a Theatre accommodating around 850, the smaller Recital Studio and various outdoor spaces for performances.
