Pearl & The Oysters are scheduled to perform at Slaktkyrkan in Stockholm, Sweden on November 27, 2026. The duo, consisting of Pearl Cockell and Alistair James, create music generally described as dream pop with strong influences from 1960s French yé-yé, shoegaze, and psychedelic pop. Their sound frequently incorporates vintage synthesizers, reverb-drenched vocals, and a nostalgic aesthetic. They gained recognition for their independently released EPs and albums characterized by lo-fi production and intimate lyrical themes.

Slaktkyrkan, translating to “The Slaughter Church,” is a former municipal slaughterhouse building located in the Södermalm district of Stockholm. Originally constructed in 1935-1937 based on designs by Paul Hedqvist, it ceased functioning as a slaughterhouse in 1960. In the late 1980s it was repurposed as a cultural venue. The building’s industrial architecture remains largely intact, contributing to its unique atmosphere. It has become known for hosting a diverse range of events including concerts – particularly within alternative and independent music scenes – theatre performances, exhibitions, and club nights.
