Babeville is a historic performance and arts complex located in Buffalo, New York. Originally built in 1898 as the Ellicott Square Building, it housed the Larkin Soap Company’s headquarters – an early example of modern architectural design focused on employee wellbeing. After the Larkin Company’s decline, the building underwent various uses before being revitalized in 2006 as Babeville by local developer Steve Cichon. The complex features two primary performance spaces: the Asbury Hall, a restored former church sanctuary known for its acoustics and unique atmosphere, and the DBRL (Drawn By Radio Local), a smaller more intimate venue. Babeville hosts a diverse range of musical acts, visual arts exhibitions, and community events annually, becoming a significant cultural hub for the city.
