Salem’s Historic Grand originally opened in 1913 as the Salem Grand Theatre, a vaudeville house hosting travelling performances. Throughout its history, it functioned as a cinema and a community entertainment venue. By the late 20th century, the building had fallen into disrepair but was subsequently purchased and underwent extensive restoration spearheaded by local community members.

The restored venue now serves as a performing arts center hosting concerts, theatrical productions, film screenings, and private events. It retains many of its original architectural features including ornate plasterwork and decorative detailing reflecting the early 20th-century theatre aesthetic. The venue's capacity is approximately 650 seated guests and it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
