Pascal Schumacher, a Luxembourgish composer and performer, will present a concert at De Toonzaal in 's-Hertogenbosch on October 3rd, 2026. Schumacher’s musical style is characterized by a blend of prepared piano, live electronics, and extended techniques. He frequently manipulates the sound of the piano through the use of objects placed on or between the strings – a practice known as preparation – creating percussive and textural effects alongside traditional melodic elements. His compositions often explore microtonality and rhythmic complexity, resulting in a sound world that is both delicate and intensely detailed. He has released several albums on labels such as Denovali Records and often collaborates with artists across various disciplines.

De Toonzaal is a prominent venue for contemporary music and art located in 's-Hertogenbosch. Originally built as a workshop for organ builders in 1893 by Verschueren & Zn., it was later used for diverse purposes including storage and car repair. In 2014, it was repurposed as a cultural space dedicated to experimental music, performance art, and visual arts.
