Experience Oslo Domkor live on December 13th
Oslo Domkor will perform at Oslo Domkirke (Oslo Cathedral) on December 13, 2026. Oslo Domkor is a highly regarded choral ensemble known for its performances of both sacred and secular choral works, spanning from the Renaissance period to contemporary compositions. The choir frequently performs a cappella and with orchestral accompaniment, demonstrating versatility in repertoire and vocal technique. They are particularly noted for their interpretations of Norwegian choral music and commitment to preserving choral traditions.
Oslo Domkirke, completed in 1697, serves as the main church for the Church of Norway Diocese of Oslo and Akershus. Designed by architect Jost van Winslo, it replaced an earlier medieval church on the same site. The cathedral exhibits a Baroque style, though it underwent significant renovations in the 19th and early 20th centuries led by Wilhelm von Hanno and later by Magnus Poulsson. These restorations incorporated Neo-Gothic elements.
The building features stained glass artwork by Emanuel Vigeland, depicting biblical scenes and figures of faith, added in the early 20th century.
