Experience Oslo Domkor live on November 28th
Oslo Domkor, established in 1927, is a chamber choir with a tradition of performing a diverse repertoire spanning from Renaissance polyphony to contemporary compositions. The choir frequently focuses on sacred music, including works by Norwegian composers, and is known for its precise vocal technique and expressive interpretations. They regularly collaborate with instrumental ensembles and soloists.
The concert will take place at Oslo Domkirke (Oslo Cathedral), the main church of the Church of Norway’s Diocese of Oslo. Construction of the current cathedral was completed in 1697, though the site has hosted places of worship since the 11th century. Originally a long church built of wood, it underwent significant neo-Gothic restoration between 1849 and 1850 led by Wilhelm von Hanno, giving it much of its present appearance. The interior features stained glass windows designed by artists including Emanuel Vigeland and incorporates artwork reflecting Norway's religious and cultural history.
Oslo Domkirke serves as a venue for important national ceremonies and events alongside regular worship services.
