Ralph Wilson Park, formerly known as South Park, underwent a significant redevelopment and renaming in 2023 following a substantial donation from the Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Foundation. The park’s history dates back to the late 19th century when it was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, famed for his work on Central Park in New York City and Prospect Park in Brooklyn. It's one of several parks within the Olmsted-designed park system of Buffalo.

The recent renovations included improvements to the park’s infrastructure, landscaping, and recreational facilities aiming to create a more accessible and vibrant community space. The park now features updated walking paths, playgrounds, and performance areas intended to host various events like the upcoming Organ Fairchild concert. It serves as a major green space for residents of South Buffalo and surrounding neighborhoods.
