Experience Oregon Symphony live on February 21st
The Oregon Symphony will perform at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall in Portland, Oregon on February 21, 2027. The Oregon Symphony is recognized for its broad repertoire encompassing classical masterworks, contemporary compositions, and pops programming. Historically rooted in a traditional orchestral sound, the symphony has increasingly embraced innovative performances and collaborations across genres, including film scores and works by living composers.
The Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, often referred to as “The Schnitz,” opened in 1984 following extensive renovation of the historic Paramount Theatre built in 1928. The Paramount was originally designed as a movie palace and vaudeville house, showcasing a blend of Art Deco and Moorish architectural styles. The renovation preserved many of the original ornate details – including the opulent lobby and intricate plasterwork – while adapting the space for orchestral performance and other live events. It’s known for its excellent acoustics and seating capacity of approximately 2,776. The hall serves as the primary performance venue for the Oregon Symphony and hosts a diverse range of touring performances throughout the year. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
