The Oregon Symphony will perform at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall in Portland, Oregon on September 26, 2026. The Oregon Symphony is recognized for its diverse repertoire spanning classical masterworks, contemporary compositions, and innovative multimedia performances. The orchestra frequently commissions new works and actively engages with the community through educational outreach programs. Its musical style is broadly rooted in the Romantic tradition but extends to encompass 20th and 21st-century sounds, often showcasing both established soloists and emerging artists.
The Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, originally known as the Portland Public Auditorium, opened in 1984 following a significant renovation of the historic Paramount Theatre built in 1928. The venue is notable for its Art Deco architectural style and its role as a major performing arts center in the Pacific Northwest. Designed initially as a multi-purpose space hosting vaudeville shows and film screenings, it was later adapted specifically for orchestral and theatrical performances. The hall’s acoustics have been updated over time to accommodate a wide range of artistic disciplines while preserving its original grandeur. It is currently owned by the City of Portland and managed by Portland’5 Centers for the Arts.
