Experience Oregon Symphony live on September 18th
The Oregon Symphony, recognized for its diverse repertoire encompassing classical masterworks, contemporary compositions, and pops programming, will perform at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall in Portland, Oregon on September 18, 2026. The orchestra frequently commissions new works and actively engages in community outreach programs alongside its core concert season. Its musical style is broadly rooted in the Romantic tradition but demonstrates a commitment to exploring 20th and 21st-century music.
The Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, originally known as the Portland Public Auditorium, opened in 1984 following extensive renovations to the historic Paramount Theatre built in 1928. Designed in the Art Deco style by architects Reid & Dunning, the building served initially as a venue for vaudeville and film before falling into disrepair. The renovation, led by Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Partnership, restored many of the original architectural details while modernizing the space for orchestral performances and other events. The hall’s acoustics have been refined over time to accommodate a range of artistic presentations. It is a significant landmark within Portland's cultural landscape and serves as a primary performance venue for both local and touring ensembles.
