The orchestra typically focuses on standard orchestral repertoire spanning the Baroque to contemporary periods, providing a platform for emerging French musical talent to showcase their skills in large-scale works. Their performances often highlight both established compositions and pieces by contemporary composers.

The Philharmonie de Paris is a modern concert complex inaugurated in January 2015, located in the Parc de la Villette in the 19th arrondissement of Paris. Designed by architect Jean Nouvel, it is notable for its acoustics and innovative architectural features, including its “balloon” concert halls – the Grande Salle Pierre Boulez and the Studio. It’s intended as a national institution dedicated to all musical genres, not solely classical music. The complex houses several performance spaces, a music museum, educational facilities and rehearsal rooms. It replaced venues previously used by Radio France’s musical ensembles and aims to be a major cultural hub for both performers and audiences.
