Orchestre de Paris is renowned for its interpretations of both standard repertoire and contemporary compositions, frequently commissioning new works and demonstrating a commitment to musical innovation alongside traditional performance practice. Established in 1967, the orchestra has a history of collaboration with prominent conductors and soloists, cultivating a reputation for technical precision and expressive nuance across a broad range of orchestral literature.

The concert will take place at Philharmonie de Paris, a relatively new concert hall inaugurated in January 2015. Designed by architect Jean Nouvel, the Philharmonie is notable for its distinctive asymmetrical architecture and exceptional acoustics. It’s built on the Parc de la Villette in the 19th arrondissement, a site previously occupied by music venues but lacking a dedicated large concert space.

The complex comprises two main halls: the Grande Salle Philharmonie, seating approximately 2,400 people and designed specifically for symphonic music; and the smaller Salle des Yeux, intended for chamber music and other performances. The Philharmonie de Paris aims to be a comprehensive center for musical education and discovery, offering workshops, exhibitions, and digital resources alongside its concert program.
