Orchestre de Paris is renowned for its versatile repertoire, encompassing a broad range of classical and 20th/21st-century works. Established in 1967, the orchestra has a history of commissioning new pieces and collaborating with prominent contemporary composers while maintaining a strong foundation in the standard orchestral literature. Its sound is generally characterized by precision, clarity, and a distinctly French lyrical quality.

The concert will take place at Philharmonie de Paris, a major concert venue inaugurated in January 2015. Situated in the Parc de la Villette, the Philharmonie represents a significant investment in France’s musical infrastructure. Designed by architect Jean Nouvel, the complex features a Grande Salle with exceptional acoustics – achieved through a “vineyard” seating arrangement surrounding the stage – and two smaller halls, studios, and exhibition spaces.

The building aims to be accessible to diverse audiences and serves as a hub for musical education and discovery alongside its role as a performance space. It replaced the historical Salle Pleyel as the primary venue for Orchestre de Paris although the orchestra continues to perform at other locations.
