Orchestre de chambre de Paris is recognized for its interpretations of classical and contemporary chamber orchestra repertoire, frequently performing works from the Baroque period through to 21st-century compositions. The ensemble is known for its agility and refined sound, often focusing on historically informed performance practices alongside innovative programming. Founded in 1959 by Jean-François Paillard, the orchestra has a long history of collaboration with prominent soloists and composers.
The concert will take place at Philharmonie de Paris, a major concert venue inaugurated in January 2015. Located in the 19th arrondissement of Paris, the complex comprises a large concert hall (“Grande Salle”) seating approximately 2,400 people, as well as smaller spaces dedicated to chamber music, musical education, and recording studios. Designed by architect Jean Nouvel, the building’s acoustics were a primary focus, aiming to provide optimal sound quality for a variety of musical genres.
Philharmonie de Paris serves as a national center for musical creation and aims to promote access to music for all audiences. It is home to the Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra and hosts numerous international orchestras and ensembles annually.
