Orchestre de chambre de Paris is renowned for its versatile repertoire spanning from Baroque to contemporary compositions, with a particular emphasis on chamber orchestra arrangements of larger works and a commitment to showcasing both established and emerging composers. The ensemble is known for its agility, clarity of sound, and historically informed performance practices. Founded in 1955 by Jean-François Paillard, it has a long tradition of collaboration with prominent soloists and conductors.
The concert will take place at Philharmonie de Paris, a relatively new concert hall inaugurated in 2015. It represents France’s first dedicated concert hall designed specifically for acoustic excellence in the 21st century. The building itself is part of the Cité de la Musique complex in the 19th arrondissement of Paris. Designed by architect Jean Nouvel, the Philharmonie de Paris features a main concert hall – *La Grande Salle* – celebrated for its vineyard-style seating arrangement which surrounds the stage, intended to create an intimate connection between performers and audience.
The complex also includes smaller performance spaces, rehearsal rooms, and a musical museum. It aims to be a comprehensive center for musical education and performance, serving both professional musicians and the wider public.
