Parco Mediceo di Pratolino represents a significant example of Italian Renaissance garden design. Originally commissioned by Bernardo Buontalenti for Francesco I de' Medici in the late 16th century, it evolved over centuries with contributions from other prominent artists and gardeners. The park’s key features include elaborate fountains – notably the Fountain of Neptune by Giambologna – sculpted grottoes, and architectural elements intended to create a theatrical landscape. It moved from private Medici ownership to become public property in 1981 and underwent substantial restoration work in recent years aiming to restore its original splendor.
