Thekla is a former Finnish cargo ship permanently moored on the Mud Dock area of Bristol’s harbourside. Originally built in 1983, it was converted into a venue and opened as a bar and music space in 1987. Its unique setting contributes significantly to its atmosphere; performances take place within the ship's hold which has a capacity of approximately 300 people. Over the years, Thekla has become a well-respected and established fixture in Bristol’s live music scene, hosting both emerging artists and established names across various genres. It’s known for its intimate atmosphere and support of alternative music.
