OKAN will perform at Syncopate Fest in Denver, Colorado on August 8, 2026. OKAN is a Canadian band creating a distinctive sound rooted in Afro-Cuban rhythms and jazz improvisation. Their music blends traditional Cuban percussion—including the batá drums—with contemporary jazz harmonies and arrangements, often featuring original compositions alongside re-interpretations of classic Cuban songs. The group consists of Maykel Gonzalez (percussion), Yosvany Terry (saxophone/percussion), David Binol (trumpet), and Pablo Gil (bass).
