Nouvelle Vague will perform at The Tivoli Theatre in Brisbane, Australia on October 1st, 2026. The French musical project, formed in 2004, is known for its unique approach to performing post-punk, new wave, and indie rock songs as acoustic bossa nova arrangements. Originally conceived as a musical experiment by producers Marc Collin and Olivier Libaux, the group features rotating female vocalists who interpret tracks from bands like Joy Division, The Cure, and Blondie. Their discography includes studio albums featuring reinterpretations alongside original compositions.

Over its lifespan it operated primarily as a cinema before undergoing significant renovations in 2017 to restore many of its original architectural features while adapting it for live performance use.
